And just maybe there may be more coming soonβ¦
We absolutely love Give Me away and canβt recommend it enough. It was an honor to have one of our idols - @macrogers.bsky.social - write in our weird little world.
This is not the sort of thing that happens to people like us.
The show we made for Paramount, "Witness" is being released today and @macrogers.bsky.social @jordiwill.bsky.social and I ran into friggin Times Square to take a picture.

We loved making this show for a hundred reasons, but #1 - Nickelodeon's casting director is dedicated to elevating under-represented communities. She fought so hard for diversity and we ended up working with incredible kids from all over the country.

For #AudioFiction Sunday (or #audiodrama Sunday?) I want to tell you guys about a Fun/Scary Show for Kids - Are You Afraid Of The Dark. Nickelodeon show that we produced as an "Audible Original". Not sure what that is...

SORRY! I should include a link. I guess the Spotify one is best?

There's a huge difference between "how are you!?" and "how's it going?"
The first one is just sorta polite, but the second one... I'm like, "oh, everyone is sick, fascism and the burning Earth are just around the corner, but... yeah! We're all still doing stuff, so..."
The placement of the "of course" is sublime.
The new agreement is SO good for everyone. I find it really inspiring. It might not be everything to everyone, but it really opens up our industry to become active supporters of the union that makes the shows so good.
There has never been a better time for Scripted Audio producers to create shows with SAG actors than *right now*. The new agreement is fantastic for both actors and producers, and the more union actors we can hire for Not-Struck work, the longer these actors can hold out.
"Poking The Bear" is such a bullshit way of phrasing it.
If it's actually a *BEAR*, then fine. But if it's just a big mean asshole, then don't let them get away with shit based on reputation. Those people almost always *fold* when poked.
They'll growl, sure, but they'll fold if you keep poking.
I used to think there was an immense moral hazard in forfeiting Twitter to the Nazis, since bad news editors were still using Trending Topics as an assignment editor. I no longer believe that. That Earth has been scorched.
I think itβs okay for most people to just let it go.
If neither thing is going to end up saving a life or changing the world or whatever, then the listeners and the tradition aren't all that important.
I don't know. Maybe we're old. But it starts being a question of what you do with your available *minutes*, not big picture.
... leading to - if there's no THERE there, whadya do? Preserve your story in Amber and be told that thousands of people are listening, or sit in a room with 50 people and be a part of a 200,000 year old tradition?
My closest collaborators and I have having this really strange and magical moment, which feels very Late Capitalism. We're caught between Live Theater, which is all the things, and Audio Drama, which is all these OTHER things...
The other social media apps have made me so friggin' gun-shy. In 2012-2014, you might write a thing and 400 people would giggle. By 2020, guys I knew were thinking Biden was a predator-crime-boss. I feel 90 years old.
I'm partial to "Suits", I have to admit. I watch it with my kids and every time someone drops nuts on someone else, we all go, "that's some good Suits".
