Yeah, the patent stuff seems a little underhanded to me.
Personally, I don't think the Palworld devs did anything wrong, though some of designs choices are a little cynical.
Overall though, it's a solid game, and it seems like the devs are putting in real effort to make it as good as they can.
Yeah, I'd want to see a proper translation of the tweets, but I suspect it was more along copying the feel of certain PokΓ©mon than specific design elements. And yeah, CBR has always given me weird vibes.

I followed the accusations about Palworld pretty closely when it came out, and as far as I saw none of them were able to be backed up by anything. It definitely copied a lot of the style and vibes from PokΓ©mon, but I don't see anything more concrete than that.
It certainly may have been an influence, or just multiple people coming up with similar designs for an anthro wizard fire fox. Either way, I agree it isn't clear plagiarism, and it's the design that comes closest to something already existing.
Some people thought that Wixen was based on a fan design of mega Delphox but it's definitely not an exact copy or anything. knockout.chat/thread/57711...
If you keep reading in the Steam discussion, the artist later found out that pal had been in a trailer about a year before they had made their design, so it really was just a coincidence: steamcommunity.com/app/1623730/...
