Nice! It looked leather at first. Had to do a double take. Haha!

My YouTube Music shifted to a track that sounds music that would play in The Nature Store.
That is my real home.
Is that a ...Lego bowtie?
Wrote a light-hearted blog for a change!!

Does anyone else try to eat their way out of the bad food sitting in their house?
We buy food for the kids...that they don't eat...and I don't want to just throw it away. So then I'm sitting here, eating food I don't want to exist.
What are my options? Besides therapy. Haha! I'm already in that.
Yes.
The video from my "Reading Code" talk at @newcrafts.bsky.social is out. Possibly my favorite version of this talk (so far?) and absolutely the most engaged audience! vimeopro.com/newcrafts/ne...
It's okay. I feel like selfies are so hard!!
That looks amazing!
finally ready to announce that my git zine, βHow Git Works", is coming out in ONE WEEK! on May 31!
it also comes with this (free!) cheat sheet which you can download and print out here: wizardzines.com/git-cheat-sh...
Especially for recipe sites. Thank goodness the "jump to recipe" button exists now.
Gru's master plan (as he gestures wildly in front of a presentation) 1. Repro the bug 2. Show your teammate 3. The bug no longer repros Wait, what? He looks back in confusion, questioning this step. There may be a flaw in the plan

Best feeling ever!! I had the worst day this weekend and spent my terrible energy planting sunflowers. Now I can't wait to see them pop up!
I just downloaded the finished version! It's so amazing how many lovely people from around the world contributed. Their experiences and advice for WFH are totally relevant, even as some teams have returned to some in-person work. #SoftwarePeopleWfhBook
Well since I'm still awake, let me wish all y'all a happy Mother's Day π
Special shout-out to these honorary mothers, too (and many more...):
- the children who became caretakers to siblings
- the "parent" of the friend group
- the nurturers who pour into others like their own
I see you πͺπ
Iβve been saying this for a long time. These are people systems. Itβs possible to understand them as people making decisions. The rise of these singular individuals with outsized decision-making power is the result of many other people abdicating their responsibility. Or actively giving it over.
To everyone fighting a battle that feels too hard to bear, I can sit with you here.
You aren't alone.
Discussion at our house tonight:
If we starting planning our Friday nights ahead of time, how would we want them set up? What could we plan that would help restore us?
One liners I'd like to add to my resume:
I make applications do weird things π
Society6 doesn't pay for shit and reduced the amount of designs I can have available π I'd like to just make my own but that's not financially an option right now.
Any artists have thoughts on Redbubble or Zazzle? Or suggestions in general for prints if you got em π¨
Thank you!!

Want to feel better?
Make time to create. Write something. Draw, paint, turn yarn into magic.
Forget the house and the job for an hour.
It feels lovely to make something out of nothing.

Read this if you have been on a team, put a team together or maybe want to work in a different ways.
We tend to tru to fit everything into the same mold. βIf we just use this recipe all will be goodβ. Only it is not always

Giving my keynote yesterday was so much fun and I enjoyed it so much! Great audience, a lot of laughter, people sharing afterwards that they found themselves in the situations I painted - couldn't be better!
I hope I can repeat this a couple of times!
