New issue with 2 playlists - rap posse cuts, late 90s dance music - plus new songs by Bebe Rexha, Yaya Bey, Gena, and John Carroll Kirby. That Kirby song is GORGEOUS.

(And RIP Bob Power)
New playlist 83 CLASSIC RAP POSSE CUTS, a jumbo barrel of my favorite type of hip-hop track. The more verses, the merrier.

I don't think that's true of Last Jedi and that's why they panicked with Rise
idk I think Harry will continue to do well with a base of fairly square people who are easily impressed
I figure a lot of it is that he firmly stands up to him, but in a respectful way that treats him like he's smart - so you get that "loves a winner" thing but also the crucial "doesn't make him feel bad" thing
highly recommended if you like 80s Depeche Mode/The Cure www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZUz...
incredible thumbnail choice
Are you ready to enter the Church of the Poison Mind? Have you put your faith in God and man? Good thing, where HAVE you gone?
he is so top-tier at all aspects of what he does that I think it can be distracting
to be more morbid, probably the grimmest rock star death ever too
I would say he's deservedly RESPECTED, but when you consider the volume of far better and more significant acts from that period, it's insaaaaane to put him ahead of them all
the 90s is a very competitive field!
yeah I mean, I know this is all lobbying and politics, but if you're gonna have the pretense of covering a history....
a few other 90s acts far more worthy and significant than Buckley who have not been nominated: Bjork, Tori Amos, PJ Harvey, Hole, Liz Phair, Alice In Chains, Pixies, My Bloody Valentine, Weezer
again, a flawless discography comprised of one mid-tier 90s record - meanwhile, they don't have Pixies or My Bloody Valentine in there, the Jenga tower of contemporary rock music crashes down without them
if they really want to do something from that period for a "they died" vote, they should do The Cranberries, who are drastically better and more significant
look, no offense to the ghost of Jeff Buckley, but what does he REALLY have? A popular Leonard Cohen cover and some influence on an early Radiohead song? get real
if you are going to take the history of pop-as-genre seriously - and they have made gestures towards this - leaving out Britney Spears is directly equivalent to not including Nirvana
I try not to go in on Rock Hall talk but:
โข hard to look at Buckley's nom without thinking they've cut the line on more significant 90s alt acts - like, yr really gonna shut out Pumpkins and Pavement and Sonic Youth for this??
โข it is ABSURD to nominate P!nk before Britney
Bomb Squad for 80s, RZA for 90s, Dilla for 00s, Tyler for the 10s
Oh you know this is going to hit ๐
I finished this article and went to his wiki to see what other Harry Styles projects I had missed and audibly gasped when the first linked article on his wiki was to a separate page about his cultural impact
