I typically muck up the first page that way it’s already “ruined” - that being said I still have a lot of notebooks I haven’t started because I’m saving them for a special occasion or something.

Notes might be perfect. You would have them across your Mac and phone. No prompts. No notifications. Free. You can add pictures or drawings if you’re ever so inclined.

What are you wanting to get out of it? The journal app on the iPhone is pretty decent. Or even just notes using tags.

I have a vicious journaling cycle that gets tired of the setup and what not so then I go to the hobonichi, and then I don’t use all of it or don’t have a need for this or that and then go back to a journal.

So thought:

I have an Apple Pencil
I have an iPad
I read books on iBooks

Can I PLEASE have hand written annotation!!!???? Gimme!!

I find it incredibly depression that we’re all born these little sparks-full of potential-full of wonder and an incredible ability to believe in the special, the magic-the is slowly whittled away by life-dimming the spark until you’re a grown ass cynical pessimist. I just want to start over.

Yeah. Just take a look at the 2025 hobonichi paper issue. You may be rolling the dice at getting a bad one. :(

I actually ordered a 2024 A6 for a commonplace (it was on sale so that was nice) but I have completely stopped using the A5 2025. I tried to power through the bad paper and just couldn’t.

There are redating kits that might be easier/less stressful. And you don’t run the chance of getting one of the bad cousins (that’s what I got. A bad run of the 2025, lots of bleed through/ghosting/feathering with pens that I used in the 2024).

Man that sweet spot between properly caffeinated and literally vibrating with impending catastrophe seems like it gets a little smaller every day

Digital daily template with categories and headers: daily notes, current media, expenses, and happiness is a habit.

It is a work in progress but here is my daily template. Some people have some super cool/complex/shortcut driven ones that I envy, but I’m just not quite there.

I love @forevernotes.bsky.social! I do both an analog #bujo and the #forevernotes system. I need to get stronger with my shortcut game and work with my structuring a bit. I have a daily template that I enjoy. Sometimes takin notes digitally is more realistic for me, yet I love journals.

Yall ever start reading a post w/ a lot of little subskeets and it starts off engaging and you’re nodding, as you continue down, it starts to get a little weird - okay nothing wrong with a lil weird, but then there comes a time when the scale tips and now it’s completely deranged?
