First Past the Post can no longer deliver real mandates - only chaos. 60% of Brits want it scrapped.
Yet the Representation of the People Bill won’t even touch our voting system, which leaves millions unrepresented.
Tell Keir Starmer to change this.

I wrote to my MP.
"We try to live lives full of purpose, of service and usefulness to others. What purpose are our lives if we don't help Heba Muraisi and Kamran Ahmed stay alive? We will all have failed so badly. Please, please help stop this."

Bye Bye Argos. Now let's renew Birkenhead Market
Cllr Pat Cleary:
“It’s no secret that the Green Councillors have always opposed the move of Birkenhead Market into the former Argos unit.
Cllr Ed Lamb and Gail Jenkinson, co-leaders of Wirral’s Green Party said they were “shocked by the findings of this daming report,”

Why do Labour, Tories and Lib Dems have so little respect for people who complain that their council tax and pension contributions are funding genocide?
My speech to council earlier this week.
Two kids move along a quiet street in the sun. One on a scoot, one cycling
On Monday night at Wirral Council, we unanimously passed my @wirralgreenparty.bsky.social motion to support more welcoming, child-friendly neighbourhoods and a proper strategy to promote outdoor play. 🌱🚲🏃♀️
A small step — but a meaningful one. Here’s a short thread. 🧵👇
Merseyside Pension Fund has taken the prudent step of no longer investing in Lockheed Martin, the world’s largest weapons company.
Birkenhead Green Party councillor Pat Cleary said the council’s leader up until May, Cllr Paul Stuart “totally had questions to answer,” adding: “Why has it taken a new leader to come in and shine a light on all of this?

Birkenhead Town Centre works are a year late and £12m over spent
Cllr Pat Cleary said, “What we are seeing is just unacceptable.
I’d like some admission of that. It’s just unacceptable.
I’m devastated, to be honest, as a councillor for the ward that this affects.
*Green MPs will be voting against the two-tier Welfare Bill
It’s very shameful the Labour MP for Birkenhead is one of the 10 Labour MPs sponsoring the PIP Bill.

Tonight at Pensions committe I had it confirmed that the Merseyside Pension Fund has divested from Lockheed Martin. This is due to its involvement in the production of cluster munitions.
A small win but it shows divestment is possible @greenparty.org.uk
This raises serious questions about what the extra costs might be to complete the works and the wider costs for the Birkenhead economy and business community.
I was shocked to learn that town centre works in Birkenhead are not expected to complete until this time next year. That points to a complete breakdown in the management of the scheme.
The public will be rightly outraged.
The response received was not ok. Judge for yourself:

We do not need new roads; we need better transport options. Think of what could be done with £9.2bn, which is to be spent on just 14 miles of road! It could transform bus services and/or cycling and pedestrian infrastructure across Britain. www.theguardian.com/business/202...
Tax Wealth - don't cut welfare
Labour’s cuts to welfare will make it much harder to qualify for Personal
Independence Payments. PIPs are essential support to live independent lives and are
paid to people who have a long-term physical or mental health condition.
Wirral Births, Deaths and Marriages should be registered in Birkenhead, say Greens
As usual @georgemonbiot.bsky.social is right.

Birkenhead councillor Pat Cleary is now calling for a full, thorough and independent investigation into the matter.

Recently, Wirral Council agreed a refreshed Community Asset Transfer policy (CAT). But no voluntary sector organisations were consulted.
