Max to Mercedes, Russell swaps to Red Bull 😊

Alpine/Renault spent a fortune setting up their powertrains and it's not worked so they're out. I don't expect Red Bull (not an OEM) to have the same patience with the current owners.

I'm saying that Max goes to Mercedes and George swaps to Red Bull for 2026, but the car is a handful in all but Max's hands (because he's incredibly talented, and many other talented drivers have failed to get any performance out of it) so they slip down the order.

What's your prediction? Think Red Bull will commit if they're uncompetitive? Bad for marketing!

Williams are in a good place with two quality drivers, good leadership and an upwards trajectory. Bring on '26.

Absolutely! Max moves to Mercedes to replace Russell, natural move for Russell is to go to Red Bull, the only possible competitive seat left!

Bold prediction: Red Bull lose Max to Mercedes. The team have lost their way in car design and even Russell can't make the 2026 car work. The RBPT is not up to the level of Merc. The parent company put up with this for 2026 but pull funding and look to sell both Red Bull and RB in 2027.

So I can't decide whether Horner has been sacked:

1) as a condition for Max to stay (it's him or me!)

OR

2) because Max has announced to the team he is going to leave, Red Bull have decided that Horner can't keep any decent staff together.

Only time will tell,but I'm leaning towards #2

The Shanghai International Circuit has been completely resurfaced ahead of this year's race.

Last year drivers discovered inconsistent grip levels around the track after a new layer of bitumen was applied before the race, which tyre supplier Pirelli was not aware of until they arrived.
