Biiig agree here. The era of "harmless" op-eds and think pieces and little exposés on absolutely tiny subcultures never really existed, it's always been a variant of the 'circus freakshow' approach to media, imo. But NOW? In this present moment? No one can in good faith argue it's harmless.
