The tone of Dark Souls takes a very deft touch to recapture; if you were to try with a lot of earnestness but get a bit too much bombast in your melancholy, you land on the Disturbed cover of Sound of Silence, which I wouldnβt say is a failure.

Some APs have more table charisma appeal, and the attendant stories wouldnβt benefit as much from adaptation. Some shows exemplify Jeff Stormerβs framework of AP as creative non-fiction, and that element canβt be adapted. But sometimes we just come up with good plots, and plot can transcend medium.
Not to spin off into a tertiary discussion, but I like to think about how Chicago benefits from the bombast of film production in ways that Cabaret benefits from the grit of everything having to occupy the same physical space.
I think this is one of my pipe dreams, for people working in other mediums how good our shows can be at making stories. Not every show would benefit from adaptation, but some stories would.
Probably have to splash some money over to Soul Muppet generally, and if the show came out well thereβd be some noise in favor of making an Inevitable AP adaptation, and that would also be cool.
βWell why not just write their own new thing at that point?β
Because I want to get paid. Telluride is a good short run, Iβm proud of the work I did as Jacquie, and it would be nice to get some trans rep out there.
Failing that, Blackstar is a bit weirder, but Iβd be happy to see them get paid too
I know itβs the name recognition, but if they wanted to make a space western that wasnβt indelibly connected to a serial abuser, they could just give, βOrbital Blues APβ a quick google and have some good IP they could pick up for relatively cheap.
Was the hope that weβd get more Firefly but not more Whedon? Cuz I feel like it would probably be better to likeβ¦ make a new Space Cowboy show at that point.
Whatβs the fishing minigame like?
I hope that this fact survives the passage of time so that when someone else attempts to come for the crown, it makes sense to describe you as, βTurn-of-the-millennium TTRPG media personality and AP theorist Jeff Stormer.β
βWoah buddy, whatβs with all the questions? You some kind of cop? You have to tell me if youβre a cop or itβs entrapment. Hahahahahaha no, like a real cop.β
βSo are those shoes part of the uniform or do just really take the βDress for less,β bit seriously?β
βSo howβd you end up as a security guard for Ross? Too literate for ICE? I can tell youβre only struggling to read the receipt a little bit, which is probably disqualifying to be a real cop.β
Like the Zehollow Blood Curse is the nascent class consciousness of people who spent 100 years killing each other over a bridge that wasnβt there anymore because their kings said so and ditched them there for no discernible reason.
I think if you take the definition the State of Florida submitted to the courts a few years ago, this is literally true.
Ben (as GM): I want yβall to have cool things to hit with your swords.
Me(Pissed off at the Catholic Church): Fuck these assholes, Iβm going to break their kneecaps.
Anatel(played by @robbrolling.bsky.social): And thatβs why the Undying Emperor>Gods. You can kill gods, The Emperor is Undying.
And itβs important to flag this as a dialogue and not a debate. Weβre kind of exploring it in terms of good storytelling, ideological objectives, and in-universe arguments for the nature of divinity at the same time, which is a bit messy.
I think the existence of the wall (and why the heavy machinery that could dismantle it is largely inaccessible to us) is why we have a lot of gods, about a dozen ways to kill them, and an ongoing dialogue between, βGods should be preternaturally powerful and specialβ and βNo they shouldnβt.β
This is my argument for why Undeath, intergenerational curses, haunting, and memory are load-baring motifs in @gamewoven.bsky.social. We hit that brick wall and have gotten kind of obsessed with who built it and why we canβt unbuild it.
Did you know that horny wizards want to stick it to @vidityavoleti.bsky.social?
Rise Wizards @captainkrail.bsky.social and Alls Fair @superdillin.bsky.social are in the last hour of their campaign and need $500 to outperform their roommate!

Damn, imagine what they could accomplish if they took the effort they put into attempting to control people and put it into, like, household and personal maintenance, hobbies, or imagining that the people around them have feelings. They could be happy and instead choose a forever war for nothing.
Off topic, but itβs plausible that sure, sheβs a brat. Is their supposition that if they were to get their hands on her (ew), she wouldβ¦ stop being a brat? Is that something theyβd want? That sounds miserable. Why would you see someone hot and be like, βDamn, I want to destroy what makes the hot?β
Another day off, another day where I donβt want to clean up after the rabbits but will anyway.
Ok, now that feels like too many and youβre going to struggle to get the really cool things in.
Shiv's making their debut on Find Out Productions on March 15th in Parallel Play, kicking off the new show with a tandem game of Missing Month with @classicalglaiza.com, the designer of the game.
Anyways, Iβm going to have a normal night because this isnβt worth my attention beyond, I suppose, posturing as too-cool-for-school at not caring in this post. So maybe Iβll have some anxiety about that. Like I said, normal night.
Got home from work in time to get my kid out of the bath and help get her to bed. Might watch another episode of The Prisoner, might try to figure out if the driving off route 53 actually is 2 hrs or if itβs accurately assessed at 1.5 and they donβt count the 15min it takes to drive out and back.
Are they still making Barbie movies? Like the ones from when I was a kid, that are basically B-Movies with a bit of jank and almost always like 3-5 really special, incredible things about them?
Anyway, they could just keep making those. They were cool.
Once again, the correct and obvious answer to "Will you vote for Gavin Newsom for president in November 2028?" is as follows:
"I will not, because he will not be the Democratic nominee."
