there are like 50 people in the country who want the UK to get involved in the Iran War, one of them is Kemi Badenoch, one of them is Nigel Farage, and the other 48 are newspaper columnists
Over the last few weeks someone has been regularly putting satsuma's in the pillar box I empty. Perhaps they think I've got scurvy?

Considering that they're hero worshipped by Nazis, there's barely a trace of anything that could be considered racist in the Viking world. As a group, they seemed to judge a person by their character & deeds rather than by skin colour.
Just finished this wonderful history of the Vikings by Neil Price. He's brilliant at making the reader look at things through Viking eyes, explaining how things we consider strange would seem totally normal to them.

Emotional rush is the perfect description. You almost feel like you need to grab him and pull him out of the tailspin he's about to go into.
I've never really been able to fully explain why but there's no other musician that grabs me as deeply as Elvis. Ever since I was a boy there was always something about him that fascinated me, he was a comic book hero come to life & the mixture of grandeur, excess & sadness still has me in its grip

That's exactly how I feel with nearly every Elvis related thing I interact with. We're going to see it tomorrow, I know I'm going to be in bits at the end.
I love the grandeur and spectacle but it's the sadness of the Elvis story that always grabs me. Every documentary/film I see or biography I read about him has me hoping that somehow, this time, he'll somehow pull out of the terrible downward spiral he got caught up in
I wish I had. He's the perfect example of someone radicalised by an algorithm, although there's a massive chance that he's always been a racist fanny.
Just looked at his account... fucking hell, I despair.
My youngest son just said that it reminded him of being little. It was a CD that rarely was too far from the player back then.

I am really pleased to read this
Sunday morning music. This is a such a fantastic record.
Just recently I've become fascinated by Lana all over again, mainly the idea that being slightly eerie and odd is absolutely no barrier to becoming one of the biggest musical stars in the world.
