They’re the current version of the Calvinist Elect in their minds. The arrogant hubris is nauseating.
Here's my bottom line:
Much of what they are doing is bad.
Much of what they are doing is unpopular.
Pushback is working.
We are winning.
Keep fighting.
Be creative.
Push for what you'd want.
Allow for insiders and outsiders.
Realize that change takes time.
Reduce harm in the meantime.

So here we have the president deeming a lawmaker who has been mildly critical of him a traitor to the country.
Once again, just imagine Obama or Biden declaring some random congressman "disloyal to the United States of America," and the round-the-clock media freakout you would have seen.
Grow a pair.
I initially read “election” as “education” and after reinserting my eyeballs, it made sense.
If only Mississippi were as invested in education as they are in controlling women’s health decisions.
What @gregsargent.bsky.social sees here is quite apparent. The larger challenge is convincing duped voters that deception and betrayal are elemental to the assemblage of a viable GOP coalition. They need to turn, durably, on the whole party, not just this one guy.
I don’t recall Americans being consulted about or Congress declaring, war. How about you self-enriching pigs feeding at the trough footing the bill?
This should be screamed by media, academia, political pundits, Constitutional experts and attorneys, and Congress daily; the basis of our democracy is openly under attack from within. Do not go gently! Rage!
