it's so practical! i'm not sure i'd ever be organized enough to do it, but it's a great way to bridge the all-or-nothing gap between an author subscription/not being subscribed at all

and then you could also fine tune it if there's kinds of stories most people want to see versus more niche stuff

i love joining new fandoms and seeing conventions people are bringing in from other fandoms. like, in heated rivalry fandom, a lot of writers make an ao3 series for all their works in that fandom so people can subscribe to that and not miss anything without subscribing to the author generally
