That's because they coddle them too much now. Back in my day, it only took 20 years for T-Rexes to fully mature, because they had discipline. Spare the rod, spoil the terrible tyrant lizard.

Yea. Ed is super cracked.
Yea. Thatβs annoying
I don't want or need a president that silences the conversations that protect people that aren't "culturally normal.π€‘"
That's how fascists chip away at the base of good people.
I do want and need a president that will prioritize protecting the most vulnerable.
That's how you protect people.
Cute!

When you say AI or AGI, donβt you think that at least something with its own agency? Or some agency of sort. LLMs donβt fall in this category. We are still far from it by the look of things.
Itβd be exhausting having family members like that. Constantly rejecting their position is important for sure.
by βheavy data and software infraβ, you mean already existing code bases with established patterns? I can see that becoming a bottleneck for LLMs too.
What the fuck is that
Exactly. Can be quite depressing.
Awesome! I was thinking of this a couple of weeks ago. Great to see that it was implemented. β€οΈ
> by first writing code
That's poorly worded on my side
Yep. That's my point.
I get this. However, donβt you think we are better reviewers and eventually better problem solvers by first writing code? And to continue getting better, we need to keep this cycle going. If it breaks, i.e no more code, then our reviewing and understanding abilities degrades?

Thatβs just tasteless.
A decade ago, when Trump one the first time, I and other Black writers tried to make us see that racism β both explicit and deeply seeded β was at the root of Trumpβs rise. We were dismissed even as late as last year as people attributed economic anxieties to Trumpβs wins.
DO YOU BELIEVE US NOW?
This.
The challenge is that people were taught *that* the nazis were bad, but not *why* the Nazis were bad.
Studying Black History, Indian History, and African History, would have revealed why Hitler didn't see himself or the Nazis as bad, and the danger and rot lurking in our societies.
+1
Yep. Pretty much the same down here in Canterbury. Windy though but the heat and the toddlers waking up every hour is enough to drive me crazy
I think this missing gap in how things truly work allow people to give in to the common narratives. Also these common narratives usually confirms their base bias of what to expect etc
Like you have to first understand what this whole government thingy is, what their purpose is, how they operate or how they should operate.
π― this! However Iβm not sure this will happen. Folks impression about the Green Party for instance is quite crappy. I try my best to educate at any chance but it feels like thereβs a missing gap.
