Also, I cannot enumerate how many times I’ve been hiking in this park and said ‘Oh this must be Notchtop Mountain’ and it was not. Well, today I actually did find Notchtop Mountain. It’s the one with the notch.

Went to stunning Lake Helene and Two Rivers Lake today. Was fairly not-cold, for above 10,000 ft, but the trail was very mushy and also post-hole-y if you stepped off trail anywhere. Spikes are good but not a whole lot you can do with mushy wet snow. #hiking #RMNP #outdoors #alonetime

Deer everywhere on Horsetooth tonite! Once I saw a video of a mule deer buck attacking a hiker & his dog on this mountain; these are maybe his offspring? The Loch was mild and pleasant today. The winter trail is still not in great shape, but we took the fire trail up and that was fantastic. Spikes only, we went past the lake almost to the base of Timberline falls and no snowshoes needed (as long as you stay on trail, at least) #hiking #RMNP

Rocky Mountain National Park pro tip: The entrances on the east side usually look like this. Also, the drive down Wonderview to the Fall River entrance is a 1000 times more enjoyable and less stressful than navigating through town to the Beaver Meadow entrance. #hiking #RMNP #NationalPark
