Eww to that guy!
Eww to that guy!
Hey folks, Great to see you! I am slowly finding you. Must have been having a bad day when I set this up :-)
Again I am looking for network mapping program. My spec is- must allow me to connect nodes without imposing hierarchy; not force me to categorise nodes; run on my MacBook and have a free version
Any suggestions? Thx!
Sounds like they have a bunch of pick 'n' mix reviewing sentences. You'd think if they meant 'this term should be in the abstract' that is what they would say?
The brilliance of @cathywilcox.bsky.social
Tone policing is not part of their role either. You can tell that they can't fault your argument when they descend to picking about your expression
This sort of review eats my liver. Boundary riders who are determined that the fied will not evolve in their lifetime, unless of course, you cite their work favourably.
Do you follow Reviewer 2 must be Stopped! ? Also, they were not asked if they *like* the paper - that is a fundamental misunderstanding of their role
Start early and do a little regularly. Tie it to something regular and dumb like brushing your teeth. You are PacMan, keep chewing away, with regular power boost rewards π
Breaking them into small groups and reward yourself when you mark each group within the time you are being paid for.
Write some sample sentences you can string together to build your feedback - donβt write original comments on every submission
Only the good ones can be marked in less. My former employer had a policy to only pay 20 mins per student per assessment
It's hard not 2 take it personally, but we can't force them 2 do it in a way that leads 2 learning. Not until unis fund ed. designers to help lecturers redesign curriculum, commit 2 smallgroup teaching, pay tutors fairly 2 mark, & enrol only students who have a chance of success. U R not the problem
This is a great essay - thank you!

I Stan your persistence. The rejection kills me

I loved the bread maker until the day a loaf failed. Somehow I was able to forgive the slow cooker when that happened, bit not knowing WHY the bread maker failed sent it to the back of my cupboard π«€ I should try it again
Depends a bit on what the accessibility issues are, E.g., whether they will be expected to collect their own data; how open the archives are; what languages they read...
The information value of press conferences and media releases is fast approaching zero
Timely advice
Happy birthday Lucy! You should always wear that colour β€οΈ
Good move β€οΈ Gotta report that my big chungus of yore topped out at 9kg. Thank goodness he had no interest in gardening

Screenshot of a tweet by @_35millimetre. Text: "Turns out the world's greatest drawing of a frog was done in 1790, by ItΕ Jakuchu" The drawing is in ink and all in black, white and grey. of a frog sitting by a pond. The frog is hilarious: Big body like an egg, spindly arms and legs around that body, some spots here and there, and the best bit, a huge downturned mouth that really looks like there's shit going on, and two big googly eyes looking in different directions. It's charming, funny, deft, and makes me giggle every time I see it. This is a frog that has Seen Too Many Things, Too Many Times. ItΕ Jakuchu knew what he was doing. My hope is this was a drawing for someone who needed cheering up, and I bet that frog did his job.

When confronted with the poor individual outcomes of the US health care system, defenders often say things like "well care may be better in X place, but we lead the world in research." Wonder what they'll say now.
