KCD2 video dropping today on YouTube ππ»
As someone who does the exact same, I always appreciate seeing this in other people's work too, I just think it helps tear away a video from everything else on YouTube, makes it that little more special and also makes it worth being fully engaged.
I suppose now is as good a time as any to clarify this, but I've never used GenAI for any Pixel a Day videos or articles, in any capacity. I am a much better writer than ChatGPT is, and there is nothing it could do to help me with the process of coming up with a video idea. (1/3)
it had to be done, the new inclusion was necessary, but it does mean the KCD2 video will likely be pushed back a day smh
Man, having to make last minute edits to a video that was already half way through a 21 hour render is awesome and I love doing it!
Dropping this on YouTube this week btw! (Hopefully Wednesday)
only the greens can stop reform, a vote for labour is utterly wasted right now, they are collapsing everywhere
I still need to play FFX so I can lock into this. I played 1-9 in 2021/22 and burnt myself out pretty bad. Your retrospectives on these games are my main motivation to get back to it!

Dropping on YouTube once the companion video is complete.
for the record, I would love to make one, I even planned one out, but I just don't know if I can justify the time a video like that takes for it to get claimed by the BBC.
Maybe if one of my other projects this year really takes off, I can spare some time to work on a Doctor Who video.
I keep getting people asking me if I'm making a video for Doctor Who series 15 and am reminded just how many people actually did watch and love my series 14 video in 2024. It's really nice to know a video like that on something I deeply care about resonated with so many people.
Phew
True, people definitely do, but in all fairness Iβve written some bizarre stuff before too, sometimes something sounds fine and then later youβre like βwtf did I even mean by that?β
For sure, itβs something I grapple with, sometimes if I write something a bit too βpoeticβ for lack of a better word, I worry it sounds like an AI spit it out, and it can be exhausting wrestling with yourself to just let it be.
And the thing is, I KNOW itβs insane because I do it to my own scripts and videos. Iβll be editing and think βman this sounds like AIβ even though I know itβs not because I literally wrote it.
And then itβs sort of a weird situation where I purposely change what Iβve written or just get over it.
My brain is truly fucked up because itβs gotten to a point where I find myself subconsciously assessing whether someoneβs writing is AI without meaning to. Iβll be watching a video essay and my brain will notice little things and think βwaitβ¦ this feels like it has chat gpt-ismsβ

Will be posting to Patreon in the next few days. Gotta finished up the DLC video for the Patreon companion piece and then Iβll post the main video to YouTube π€π»π€π»π€π»
A fabricated statement from Nintendo of America's Twitter account addressing a fictitious scenario in which the Earth's oxygen supply is presumed to be depleting at a rapid pace, leaving humanity with mere days to live. "This is Miyamoto. On behalf of everyone who is employed at Nintendo Co. LTD and its subsidiaries, we deeply mourn the countless human lives which will be lost due to the depletion of the global oxygen supply. To anyone who has ever played one of our games, we are eternally grateful to have created long-lasting fun and memories for you. To ease the suffering of families and children across the world, the Mario Kart World game for the Nintendo Switch 2 system will be available as a free download on Nintendo eShop for the foreseeable future. We hope this small gesture of kindness will ease the pain as humanity prepares for a worst-case scenario." The statement is distastefully plastered with logos for Nintendo and Nintendo Switch 2, as well as with a render of Mario from Mario Kart World.
A fabricated Twitter thread responding to the fabricated Nintendo statement. John Default Profile Picture: "No one read this statement and thought it was distasteful? Why did Miyamoto think this would help anyone?" NintenDeen: "Simple: Nintendo is so depraved that they'd exploit a global crisis to boost the player count of the failed Mario Kart World and force consumers back into the Switch 2 ecosystem to boost sales and player numbers."
A fabricated Twitter thread responding to the fabricated Nintendo statement. PlayStation Nation: "What the fuck are you doing falsely advertising sales during these trying times? I went to the website and Mario Kart World is still selling for $80 USD." Kremling Kevin: "If you actually read the statement, it clearly says the discount is available on Nintendo eShop. Meaning the application on the Switch 2 itself, not the web browser version." PlayStation Nation: "Point still stands."
A fabricated Tweet responding to the fabricated Nintendo statement. Isaboner: "Nothing for Switch 1 owners?"
Had a dream that there was global panic about the world running out of oxygen, Nintendo was the only video game company to make a statement about it, and the internet collectively spent its final hours on Earth debating whether Nintendo was being genuine or not
I donβt want to toot my own horn but I genuinely think this KCD2 video is the best thing Iβve ever written.
I just got done with editing all the audio. I only have around 50 minutes of the timeline left to fill with footage and itβs finished. I canβt wait to share it.
I'm looking forward to doing the same with BOTW sometime too, that's another game I streamed and didn't really like all that much. I think streaming games that are open, incredibly non linear and slow burns, really kills any enjoyment I would've had for them.
I was originally planning to stream this replay but I got the itch to jump in and decided to say fuck it and just let myself enjoy it and I do think playing it off stream was the right call, it's a game you can lose yourself in for hours upon hours.
I did play like 20 hours in 2022, I streamed it as well, but I just didn't vibe with it. I'd only played Demon's Souls before it and FromSoft's stuff just hadn't clicked for me. Having played Bloodborne and all the Dark Souls games since, Elden Ring is hitting like absolute fucking crack.
Over the last week I finally started playing Elden Ring
Gaming might actually be so back. When was the last time we had back to back years with this many great games? Itβs mental!

Made some really good progress on the KCD2 edit today. Still a decent way to go, but getting close to having at least a preview of the first chapter up on Patreon soon ππ»
