I relate to the feeling of "the industry" taking something away from us. A friend recently reminded me that "cameras didn't kill painting", so maybe there will be a place for code as poetry in the future :)
My hope towards this started to crumble when I heard an AI enthusiast say that refactoring code is now so fast and cheap, that quality doesn't matter anymore, because you can just rewrite everything in a couple of months with an improved model. The post-quality age 🥲
Even the wording in this industry and the excessive focus on productivity all around. Imagine a woodworker telling you the bottleneck of making a table is how fast they can move their hands, it's absurd.
