Imagining a setting now where in order to create plausible deniability the murder mystery involves many other things that happen to drain blood. Chupacabras, giant swarms of mosquitoes, leeches, ticks etc.

The biologis is still my favorite. He's not that kind of doctor!
More or less yeah. Trump voters turned out and democrats didn't as much. But to me that's basically the same result. It turns out there is a constituency for people who want things to get worse, and they outnumber the others. Turnout was down but it was still 64%

Is school not like. 7 hours for you guys. This is the first I've learned that school could be more than classes with a break for lunch.

It feels like a lot of common wisdom is information that scales poorly. Yes your uncle Jeff who always "borrows" money and never pays it back probably isn't going to improve his live if you continue giving him money. But as it turns out, many poor people are not Uncle Jeff.
๐ซOuch, that's going to burn๐ฅ

Reminds me of this blog post about how boot hill's absurdly lethal combat actually pushed people away from using combat as a way to resolve things because a straight fight involves getting shot and dying.

From a medieval Old English text, remarkable common sense about Zodiac style prediction systems.
Perfect Blue (1997): dramatic promotional illustration featuring a young woman in a red strapless dress with white gloves and stockings standing confidently in the foreground, her image fragmented by shattered glass that reveals distorted reflections of herself in different outfits and expressions, evoking themes of identity and psychological tension against a dark background.
Perfect Blue (1997). Key art of Mima Kirigoe by Satoshi Kon. The style blurs the lines between reality and illusion, which is a central theme of the film.

You're so right. Give me some half remembered shloka. Then again I guess they're reasonably worried about writing a religion they don't practice, and are mildly unfamiliar with.
It's such a useless feature too.
"Hey you know those places you hang out. Turns out, you hang out there often."
Like, thanks. I was aware.
It's so funny to diagnose things with smell, because 99% of the time it's such a nothingburger of a sense.
lol nice try foreign ghost my fears are based on a different cultural context
I gotta say this is a pretty decent list (bolstered by the fact that it's huge, but still). You'll get a better picture of where games are this year browsing through this than anything (literally anything) that happens at The Game Awards.

It gets even worse with like. "Building housing won't lower housing cost." types. Because like, what is your proposed solution. Even if you crater the prices by force, there's still more people who want homes in the place than there are homes.
Straight up had this happen with someone the other day. They were complaining that the housing first program was wasteful and inefficient because 15 million was "only" housing 1,200 per year. That's 12,500 per year! Barely over a thousand dollars in month. And yet people vibe math.
