Yes, it was an interfaith effort organized by the Roman Catholic diocese. The non-Catholic leaders who were part of the 13-member delegation were a local imam and me (the Episcopal Bishop of San Diego). The other 11 were Catholics, including their 3 bishops.
These are the three Roman Catholic bishops of San Diego. I was glad to join them and other faith leaders at immigration court today to offer compassion and presence.
Yes, it was a good day of witnessing immigration court in San Diego and bringing presence and compassion to those involved.

Really concerned about the fear and heartbreak coming to our immigrant communities. This article brings some on-the-ground insights to how mass deportations might work, and what might slow them down.
It’s going to be a challenging 2025 in Arizona for our congregations. I appreciate the clarity of this article in identifying the fear of deportation as being a massive part of the strategy that seeks to break up families and destabilize communities.
