Apparently, it has been reported that our boy Luigi has recorded numerous sex tapes, which sources are describing as “highly stylized” and “cinematic quality.” And I guess that this news was intended to sour the public’s opinion of him.

True. Most people are not fully prepared for the level of investment and work that goes into raising and maintaining a flock.
Corporate media: “You know what would turn the public opinion against this CEO-killing folk hero that everybody thinks is super hot? Knowing that they could literally watch him fuck.”
Great work, y’all. Truly fantastic.
I’m baffled that they’re saying all this as if Avian Flu is unable to affect backyard birds, and as if it’s a great idea for everyone to have their own personal potential disease vectors, especially in more highly populated areas. All absolutely terrible ideas.
You know I’m a fan for life. I’ll follow you on any platform, to the ends of the earth, Teresa.
People think the chipmunk had that big A on his outfit because his name was Alvin, but you’ll notice the other two didn’t wear their initials. No, in fact, Alvin was forced to wear that letter because he was a disgusting little whore.
The kid and I made snow ice cream!
Because we’re classy, I made sure to get the yellow snow, so we could have French Vanilla.
I have published a couple sketch collections, but it’s been easily a decade since my last one… probably longer. I keep telling myself I’m going to put together a new one, but I never carve out the time.
Ink drawing of Count Orlok from Eggers’ NOSFERATU, in sketchbook.
So, not technically my final drawing of 2024, but definitely my last sketchbook entry of the year. After recently doing that profile of Count Orlok from memory and missing the mark a bit, i decided to refresh my memory and do an another somewhat more screen-accurate take on Eggers’ NOSFERATU.

this is why you don’t lift babies by their heads
When you spend all day every day palling around with legitimately terrifying monsters, what’s a few old ghosts?
No matter how much skill you acquire, drawing reveals something indelible about yourself that maybe even you don't comprehend. You're confessing, not flexing. We're connecting with your vulnerability as much as your talent. Hiring a robot to spackle over those faults is a cosmic goof.
…unlike the conjugation in the movie, which is just patently upsetting.
Je te déteste pour ça, Jamie McKelvie.
Somebody’s still gotta destroy the ring, though.

Needed a little warmup before inking today, so I did a little doodle of the new Eggers #NOSFERATU from memory, just to get my brain and hands working together. Hope y’all dig it!
A B C D, follow me!
The theme song still pops into my head on a regular basis. I, of course, remain a fan of Tall Teeth.
Just noticed that this week is the 20th anniversary of Young Zombies In Love at the NY Fringe Festival. (That's the pop/rock musical Gm7 and I wrote way back when.)
I see that I have not updated the website in the intervening years. emeraldrain.com

Robbed of your glory. That sucks, man.
Dorne looked like a young Abe Vigoda blended with Boris Karloff. Wild Bill looked like if Dorne drank the Jeckyll/Hyde formula.
He was so great that it’s honestly kind of sickening.
stumbled onto this lynda Barry comic again which always makes me a little verklempt

Last night, I went to a Comics Reading event at an indie comics store/flower shop over in Northern KY. I never realized things like this even existed, especially not in this area. It was a delightful experience, and I walked out of there with a fat sack of new books that I’m excited to sit and read.
Thanks! I did ‘em! I try to color as much of my own stuff as possible. The older I get, the more I insist upon it.
A terrified mother clutches a little girl and covers her mouth, while hiding behind a bannister as a ghost in a Victorian wedding dress, holding its own desiccated severed head, descends the stairs behind them.
Comic book cover. The same mother/child/ghost image, but with the full EC Comics trade dress for Epitaphs From The Abyss included above it.
I’m super excited to share my first official @eccomics cover, for @onipress’ upcoming EPITAPHS FROM THE ABYSS. This one is a retailer exclusive variant for my dear old pals at @upupawaycomics in Cincinnati, where I’ll be signing on Wed July 24, when the book drops!
Hard to believe that the harsh crackdown on campus protesters only caused the protests to spread to other campuses and to become more aggressive in their tactics, just like every historian has been predicting for the past month.
