For the Venom I used a zebra titanium G nib on a fountain pen by ackerman pens (Brilliant pens for traditional quills, definitely worth trying out. Check back in tomorrow for timelapse of finishing it off from this point!

All the pages were physically inked then digitally cleaned up. Great pieces for me to practice on, and I've been getting direct feedback from Eaton himself as I complete each page which has been a huge help in pushing me to get even better.

down to it, there is still a fundamental right way and wrong way to do it. A difference between something being Inked vs being Line-art.
What do you think? Do you prefer a certain style? Do you see/notice a difference? Does it make a difference to you when reading a comic?
Id be curious to see where others weigh in on this, maybe I'm biased because of my focus and all the work at it for the last year and 100+ pages later.

Line weight is the biggest way to do this, as a part of an object gets closer to the camera, the line weights should be thicker, the farther away it is, the thinner it should be. This is what helps create the volume of illusion.
Now my son, tried to argue that its a matter of style.
by multiple publishers that are "inked" with a lot of cleanup needing to be done that shouldn't have been published.
Whats been drilled into me is that with comic art we are taking a 3d object and displaying it as a 2d image, which means we have to work as artists to give it volume and life.

Ive been handed pages to colour and seen pages included for talent searches by publishers that are "inked" where ive had to go back and pretty much re-ink the entire page before tackling the colours.
