Good to hear. I can't help with the motivation, but happy to help with making a widget out of an element inside of an SVG. Could you give some more details? There's an example on tiddlywiki.com of making an SVG with wikitext but it sounds like that's not quite what you want

Chastening that in 2024 I have to pick between the ability to see my mouse and the ability to read tooltips
