Pleased to see an early Bumble bee on the pulmonaria this morning. So far it's been all Buff -tailed and Honey bees.

In the 40 yrs I've walked here at Didlington I've never seen the River Allen look so fierce. Doesn't look too good for the Grey Wagtails that always frequent this very spot but this one seemed to be checking it out today soπ€#birdsseenin2026

Having walked Didlington for 40 odd years counting butterflies for @dorsetbutterflies.bsky.social for at least 20 yrs it was lovely to see 4 Brimstones a Comma and this Peacock today. Lots of changes over the yearsπand βΉοΈ

The two Chiffchaffs I found outside Wimborne at Didlington today were just not playing ball, which made me suspect they are newly arrived .

Hoping to see hares today but didn't expect two up close and personal just inside the track I was walking on outside of Wimborne. They eventually ran off, but not quickly,to the top of the field next to the main road! @dorsetwildlife.bsky.social
