I suck at XML and JSON, and xmllint.com and jsonlint.com have saved me so many times!

Also, I love the compress option to reduce size, then we can even base64 encode for use in scripts or areas where escaping characters is hard :)

If you do have to create an exclusion for an app, you can add back some protection to directory information using Filter for apps:
