The og Marathons are surprisingly well-written for FPS games, let alone ones that came out in the mid 90s. Rather normal "alien invasion" plot but the rampancy aspect has real nice depth to it. Durandal steals the show, and you can see the DNA for Halo in the gameplay and the Phfor.

It's a special kind of disgust when a game or movie references a book you've read and you can tell that they only have a "read the wikipedia page" level of understanding of it
Obviously it's too late now after Prometheus and Alien: Earth but I always wondered which'd be scarier: if there were tons of alien species out there in the Alien universe but they were all hostile to humanity, or if there was nothing but xenomorphs and the bones of dead civilizations

The moment i knew Trench Crusade had the sauce is when they published the timeline of events and it just say "1899 - Church Space Program" without any further clarification.
Ah, the dogcatchers. Cool backstory, but one of Alien 3's many sins was their design, which looks like they slapped together whatever was on hand that day. And of course they're almost entirely white, the most fun color to paint, because why wouldn't they be?
