I was born in an Iranian prison. My parents were held in their jails. My uncles lie in their mass graves.
Nothing you can tell me about the crimes of the Iranian regime that I haven't lived in blood and bone.
That doesn't mean I want my people bombed, maimed, killed, their homes in ruins.
If your vision of liberation comes only through the destruction of innocent lives, then it's not freedom you're after.

I am pro Iranian people. I stand with them against their own governmentโ€™s repression AND against the imperial violence in the form of bombs dropped from the sky from Israel & the US who have already killed hundreds.

I support neither imperialism or dictatorship.

They really dropped the ball by killing Roxy. She was a guaranteed vote for James, while Faraaz was probably not going to be voted out and wouldn't keep either of them in

I'm so sad the Celtic union is falling apart, but this is such an iconic way for it to do so!
If Fiona goes, that could provide cover for Stephen as she was in the library 5

Itโ€™s time for the world to Boycott, Divest and Sanction the U.S
Avoid the Olympics, World Cup and other sporting events. Thereโ€™s no reason to celebrate the 250 birthday of this fallen nation

Stop blaming refugees... for problems caused by billionaires. Scottish Greens.

Stop blaming refugees... for problems caused by billionaires. Scottish Greens.

Migrants didn't cut council funding.
Migrants didn't raise energy bills.
Migrants didn't close community centres.

Know what would help solve Scotlandโ€™s problems? Taxing the super-rich and building an affordable country for all.

I've always wanted to use Nebula, but what's stopping me is that you can only pay for it in (US?) dollars. It makes it feel like it's for Americans (I assume) only, despite all the Brits, and it means I'd have hidden, fluctuating conversion costs on my end as a consumer

Seems counter-intuitive considering the amount of big businesses on the site. Can't imagine the BBC getting an employee to do community posts from their phone

Cartoon by Stephen Collins for the Guardian, here's the script:

[SCENE: THERE ARE TWO TALKING COCKROACHES, THEY ARE BBC BREAKFAST PRESENTERS]
DAVE COCKROACH: Good morning!

Itโ€™s Wednesday May, 76,000,002,018 AD
Youโ€™re watching BBC Breakfast with me, Dave Cockroach
SELINA COCKROACH: And me, Selina Cockroach

DAVE COCKROACH: Well, today is set to be the hottest day ever recorded in Britain, as the sun swallows the Earth

SELINA COCKROACH: What a scorcher!

DAVE COCKROACH: Here to tell us More is Matt whoโ€™s down in sunny Brighton. Hi Matt!

MATT COCKROACH [REPORTING FROM WHAT REMAINS OF BRIGHTON]: Morning Dave! Well, the sea is long since evaporated down hereโ€ฆ

But that hasnโ€™t stopped every cockroach coming out to enjoy the glorious blood-red sun hovering ten feet above the ground.

Great news for Ian Cockroach here, who sells ice creams

Howโ€™s business Ian?

IAN COCKROACH. LEANING OUT OF AN ICE CREAM VAN: Iโ€™m on fire

[IAN COCKROACH CATCHES FIRE]

DAVE COCKROACH: Ha ha! Oh dear I think Ian is -

Is the BBC giving too much airtime to Reform UK? With me in the studio to discuss this are Nigel Farage, Richard Tice, Lee Anderson and Sarah Pochin.

Reform are panicking about people pointing out that they want to replace the NHS. So please don't share this clip of Nigel Farage saying he'd rather healthcare was done through insurance companies.

It's not the population figures, it's the fact they're referring to the UK๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง but calling it England๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ. It's like referring to Spain but calling it Castille, or referring to the US but calling it California

Do you think this will finally cause a crackdown on Social Media to reduce misinformation? We've known about this exploit for arguably a decade, yet governments seem unwilling to fix the root of the problem. Instead, they just complain about foreign interference, reducing confidence in democracy

Not really... Reading and listening are both different cognitive skills. When you listen to an audiobook, your brain processes the information differently to when you're reading the words on the page. Do they both count as reading, no. Are they both equally valid ways to consume literature, yes!
