To mark the start of a new semester, here's a new metapuzzle, "Academic Transfers." The meta answer is a site of higher learning. knottygrids.blogspot.com/2026/01/acad...
Panthers to the playoffs! This is definitely the strangest multi-way tiebreaker scenario to benefit a North Carolina football team since, well, last month. Keep pounding!
What happened to ear and throat?
When I was in Hebrew school, we put on a musical version of that story and did a performance at the local nursing home. As my mom describes it, it was surreal watching a bunch of chipper 3rd graders singing "It could be worse, it could be worse" to people for whom it really couldn't.
I first wrote this sweet metapuzzle back in 2019 - one of my earliest puzzle attempts, but still one of my favorites. Resharing it here for reasons that will perhaps become apparent. The meta answer is *a seasonal greeting.* crosshare.org/crosswords/F...
Image of my Bluesky feed showing Liora's original post, and just below it, a post from Halachic Left: "Ya'aleh Zikhroneinu, our essay collection for the High Holidays, is now live! Download and print it out to read over the chagim here."
This is what popped up directly below it in my feed. @halachicleft.org

As I recall, the old Soncino translation euphemistically translated it as "waist."
Regarding the Dear Leader's patriotic indoctrination orders, no one says it better than Pete Seeger z"l. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAN4...
For my very first post on this newfangled thing, here's a crossword I wrote last year. It may keep you busy for a little while. knottygrids.blogspot.com/2024/05/less...
