It is World Book Day. Buy a book from an indie press, leave a review for an author, or social media post to a beloved author and make their day.
Yup!
Thank you. π
Relieved to be writing my first fresh fiction since October. Been struggling with some personal stuff and writer's block. It's finally starting to fade, and I can feel that old drive stirring again.
My husband once kicked Nicolas Cage out of a bar. He was a bouncer.

I am with you. I was in the reserves, and so was my husband.
5 of my writing pet peeves
1. Any variation of "this isn't a story, it's real life"
2. Overhearing only the bad part of a convo
3. Problems that could be solved with 1 convo
4. High school relationships being endgame
5. It was all in their head/a dream all along (except Bob Newhart, of course)
cover of Frost Zone Stories book 3 on left: black cover FROST ZONE in white, below which is a green oval shape with type, S T O R I E S. Image is black and white antique etching of woods and stream into which a troll-like figure has been added in the shadows and a tall, thin man with slouchy top hat, pirate boots, long black coat, and skeleton face and hands. He is scattering stars to the ground atop a tiny hare. On the right: E.F. Ritter "A Winter on Poplar Avenue" The people on Poplar Avenue followed patterns. They went about like ants to their cars and their jobs, and never seemed to notice or mind that the clouds were too bright in spots. ...By the time the year's end was nearing, I'd become certain of one reality: something lurked above those clouds. Frost Zone Stories Book 3, Spring 2026

I work in a law firm. :)
Plus, Small Claims Court in Ontario is $108 just to file a claim. If you hire someone, you're looking at $250+ for a consultation fee, and hourly rates run in the hundreds, even for a paralegal... and so on
If you take a look in here, you'll find my story "Glass Piano" and an interview about it...."Glass Piano" first appeared in @hexliterary.bsky.social and was then part of the collection Glass Stories with @grimscribepress.bsky.social
Sorry to hear about Eric Dane's passing.
I was the "scorekeeper".
Which is why in my martial arts classes, I am always encouraging. Mistakes are opportunities to grow, not a failing. I personally value effort over skill.
Agreed. My whole child/teen hood I hated sports not cause of the sports themselves but because I was bad at them and never heard the end of it. Any sport I liked, I soon quit because of it. You got labelled " bad at it" and then at best, ignored, and at worst, bullied.
Raisins are stupid. Who looked at a perfectly good grape and thought "hmmm... what if I ruined this instead?"
