Working in a pandemic world is just listening to colleagues say βthere must be something going aroundβ on a weekly basis for years and trying to decide if you wanna remind them itβs covid or silently scream into the void again.

Iβm surprised they were allowed that much site coverage with impermeable surfaces. Truly heinous!

Same.
βLook ah dis, ah coyote burridohβ. Incredible stuff.
The way we all need him to talk to us in this firm and loving way. He knows whatβs best!

Update: new tree! A tree installed by the City a few yrs ago didnβt survive. I requested a replacement + they came through! Hoped to have it installed before the work party last fall, but timing didnβt work out so we left a 2x2m gap. Crew planted seamlessly and w/o damage to plants nearby. #nanaimo

Another interesting talk! Looks like some good stuff for those of us on Vancouver Island. π±
Iβm just learning about him now so joining the party a bit late but happy to be here!
This webinar looks great! I just registered. π±
As a cyclist + walker I support trails but the way this was carried out was destructive + dismissive. Local ecosystem experts offered ideas on minimizing damage once they saw preliminary work. Their suggestions were not taken. A number of us scrambled to save native bulbs over a rainy weekend. π₯
This cutie is not my cat but one of my neighbours from a few blocks away, I think. Our city has a bylaw against outdoor cats however no one follows it. So, we try to keep an eye on outdoor neighbourhood cats in our yard and supervise as much as possible!

Found some nice things in my yard last weekend. Fighting the horrors by tending to growing things + making plans to grow more things (plant more native plants!).

Mushrooms turn dead wood into food and medicine which is better than anything any tech start up has ever done
Yes! Iβd love that. Iβll reach out in the coming months to get something set up in the summer for fall sowing if that works. Tysm!
People be peopling! I think the benefits of more native seeds becoming more native plants outweighs the use of plastic for the wet clime Iβm in.Tysm!
Are the seeds in little sealed plastic bags inside the velum envelopes? It gets pretty soggy here!
This seems like a beautiful project that could be duplicated in my neck of the woods here in Nanaimoβ¦

The whole town was out and about and even some handsome pups, too!
I had a little rip around too. Sun felt good (if not alarming it being Feb 4) and the air was freshhhh! π²

it is not shameful to wear a respirator. frankly, it should be far more shameful to not take simple steps to prevent needless infection to community members. is keeping each other safe not the point?

Both depictions feature Catherineβs iconic comedic facial expressions.
She always made me laugh. Delia, Kate, Moira, Cookie, Mickey + more. #CatherineOhara
I illustrated this over 10 years ago when we were all falling in love with Catherine as Moira Rose.
Goddamn.
