Of course a speculator like Trump, who’s gambling on crypto and is fine with bankruptcies, thinks offering 50 year mortgages is a great idea. 🙄
Would a 50-year mortgage make homeownership easier — or riskier? - www.reuters.com/markets/weal...
The Blue Jays need some runs in the 9th, so of course you know which hitters in the batting order lead off.
6-7! 🤣
Even the WSJ can see Trump’s coercive approach to higher education is over the top.

Who knew the muzzling of free speech in America would be accomplished by the corrupt union of right wing media ownership and right wing control of the government?
Actually, quite a few people, but too many failed to heed their warnings, so here we are.
Anecdotally, from people I know, it has seemed that finding a job after losing one has gotten hard. The hard data now back that up.

Scott Spivey’s killing looked to police like a case of self-defense. Then his sister dug up evidence of a misconduct by the deputy chief in a clumsy conspiracy bound by friendship and favors.
Does “Normies don’t always think like us” mean you don’t want normies following you?
I’m a centrist politically, & I thought the leftwing reaction to Whitmer’s meeting with Trump was simply a brouhaha, despite Trump’s being a putz. She’s doing her job.
I follow you, but “like us” made me wonder.
We also honor Union soldiers who died right here on n America stopping slavery.

Ignoring the stupidity in the July ‘24 post, the May ‘25 post shows Austin doesn’t understand economics.
Big brands won’t pay the tariffs, their customers will (inflation ⬆️, sales ⬇️). Same for Austin’s little company.
Tariffs up equals taxes up is a simple concept. Bye bye little import company.
This time really is different for the dollar, writes Kenneth Rogoff

We just lost a $70M fighter jet in the Red Sea when our aircraft carrier had to make a sudden maneuver to avoid a Houthis attack. I wonder how the Houthis knew where our carrier was? I hear they have access to Signal.
The heartless folks defending this will point out that only their mother was deported, as though any mother would simply leave her kids behind, perhaps never to see them again.
Funny how the guy steering the economy towards recession (Trump) is saying that if the Fed Chair (Powell) doesn’t lower interest rates, it will push the economy into recession. 🙄
Yesterday Trump paused some Trump-imposed tariffs, & we saw Trump supporters react to the big up day in stocks by crowing about Trump’s “brilliant strategy.”
Today the market began to digest forecasts of reduced corporate sales/earnings due to Trump tariffs, & stocks dropped.
Trump supporters:
🙄
I didn’t understand your meaning. Thanks for the clarification.
Trump owns Truth Social. Trump “truthed” before announcing the 90 day pause in some tariffs that “now is a great time to buy.” DJT (Truth Social) was up 21.67% today, with majority owner Trump getting a $1B gain in 1 day.
Trump controls the agencies that would enforce the laws governing this.
The MAGA crowd, if they read your thread, will nod their heads and say “exactly, how could 78 million people sell stock and cause a crash when Trump said everything will be great.”
🙄
In case your question was not rhetorical, they’d have to be the sort of idiot who joined the MAGA cult.
I hope it’s when, and I agree with you.
I just don’t understand the sentiment of “giving not a shit” about terrible Trump tariffs that hurt both our countries.
Who said anything about Canada “stepping down?” Not me. I said I want Trump’s insane tariffs rescinded!
This 90 day pause Trump announced is only a tiny step in the right direction, but it didn’t require Canada stepping back. Canada should stand firm.
We should all want no Trump tariffs!
An American (me) wants the idiotic & harmful Trump tariffs lifted, & your response is “no.”
I certainly agree Canada has plenty of other countries to trade with. It’s the abrupt disruption that will case harm, to both Canadians & Americans.
It’s too bad you’d rather see these bad tariffs continue.
I understand very well who Trump is: a greedy, power hungry, narcissistic sociopath who doesn’t care about harming Canadians or Americans. I’m not sure why you thought I didn’t understand.
I also give a shit about ending his harmful tariffs, despite their causing some Canadians to hate Americans.
It was over one million Americans who died after Trump said don’t worry.
He’s got one for himself, so he’s checked it off his To Do list.
Undoing these terrible tariffs would save Canadian jobs, regardless of the destruction of goodwill.
Of course, there is nearly zero chance the MAGA controlled Congress can muster the votes needed to overcome a Trump veto, so that’s a good reason to give zero shits.
WA voted for Harris.
As Americans brace for massive losses in their retirement savings tomorrow, most will take little comfort in Trump’s claims that his massive & sudden tariffs are a “beautiful thing.”
Some will though, because they’ll believe him, right up until they join the rolls of the unemployed.
