My new piece in Nature Human Behavior: "We need to fight for the next generation of US researchers"

All trainees need 3 things to thrive. In the US, those things have been ripped away. Let's brainstorm and fight to get them back.

Searchable database of tangible benefits that federally-funded research gave us. A crowd-sourced site. Health and Well-being. National Security. Prosperity.

we're crowd-sourcing a searchable repository of tangible benefits stemming from federally-funded research. Come enjoy the great stories; or send in an idea; or volunteer to join the team.

please share and re-share so we get more great stories in there!

Has β€œmany analyst” #research been done on quaLitative #data?

How much do *independent* teams of qualitative coders/analyzers converge/diverge when trying to answer one question with one dataset?

Suggestions (and self-promotion) welcome.

Alzheimer's research funding is in the DOGE crosshairs, putting invaluable datasets (including tens of thousands of genomes) and biorepositories at risk. This reflects the volunteer efforts of thousands of research participants over four decades. Please contact your reps/senators. Hands off NIH.

Speechless. Currently in the hospital as the Pediatric Infectious Disease Attending & access to vital info is limited. My duty to each child that I take care of is to have to most up to date information - in order to provide the best possible care. This is unacceptable

Hearing that a lot of NIH study section and council meetings are being cancelled.

In the spirit of @nicolecrust.bsky.social β€˜s call to action for scicomm, if you have found yourself with a few extra hours today, consider making a video or writing an op-ed on why research matters. πŸ™
