i've had ginger island unlocked since like summer 3 of year 2 (i unlocked it basically right after i unlocked community center. I could've unlocked community center year 1 because i had a god seed but i was stupid it's a whole thing) and i didn't go even once until near the end of fall year 2

This isn't really a criticism of the game or anything, it would be pretty unrealistic for concernedape to have to change a bunch of already complex npc behavior based on the specifics of your relationships with them and stuff. like the npc system is already extremely deep
i'm pretty early in stardew valley, but i've been not putting a lot of time into npc relationships my first year because idk if npc character development in the cutscenes actually changes their in-game behaviors at all (like their daily schedules and stuff) & i worry it would kill my immersion LOL
