In light of recent news, here's an old piece I did for the Smiling Friends reanimate project! The gang now rides iconic Daveland rides like Dave's Bayou Adventure, Pirates of the Davibbean, and The Dave Mansion. Unseen is my personal favorite, the Country Dave Jamboree. #smilingfriends

I will say I’m totally fine with the boat ride and tamer coaster- due to an injury I can’t do super big coasters, but looking at it from a design standup it just seems very tame compared to what we expected. Maybe if Ursula is tea cup style with boats spinning around her it’ll feel unique enough?

Something about this feels off. A family coaster (mild thrills), a flat ride spinner (the 4th in the park at that), and a boat ride (daring today aren’t we?) don’t scream “bigger and bolder” from what we’ve seen. In fact it seems smaller and safer, from a thill standpoint.

Let’s just hope it doesn’t rain the day you go! 😂

I haven’t! I’m just a fan haha. I do work for the theme park news site WDWNT as a graphic designer though so I’m in the general sphere!

This was my childhood vacation spot! The amusement parks on the piers have a pretty interesting history, including a giant animatronic King Kong long before Universal, a suspiciously named “Bear Country Jamboree” not long after Disney, a Planet of the Apes attraction… lots of oddities!

I’m all for “synergy” guest stars if it’s random/obscure (to general audiences) picks like that. Give me an episode where the entire Country Bear Jamboree guest stars (in Muppet form?), with Kermit and Henry having to try to co-run the show. Gonzo and Big Al seem like a fitting pair too lmao
