I work with medical devices and side-job on building agricultural and mining related equipment and both companies are struggling to maintain product lines into next year because of the memory shortage. Anything more complicated than a breadboard is at risk.

Thought about @broth-nsfw.bsky.social Shadow/Amy (Sugar) hybrid design and got struck by the thought of an outfit they would wear at least once.

Yes, that extends to many of the inner functions as well. Robust solutions that are easily accessed, maintained, cleaned, and operate through almost anything. I worked primarily with heart-surgery related equipment; patient temperature control, muscle paralysis, blood filtering, etc.

I've worked in the medical device industry and they can be pretty neat! Sometimes far less complex than you might imagine for how big they are, but often that hollow volume helps protect the internal workings from bumps and bangs of getting wheeled around a hospital for many years.
