One of the most unique and interesting ship designs from SW. In Start Wars: Rebels, episode “Wings of the Master” there is a detailed account of the origins of this design (retconned), painting it as one of the most powerful starfighter of the era.

one of my favorite moments of TNG is when Picard is immediately unable to contain his horse autism
Wood chipper, feet first, and not just him.
Monsters. All of them.
News: Ben Affleck is being weird again.
Me:
Unironically, I believe a year or 2 in the wilderness would do me more good than all the meds and treatments I've received in 20 years. Especially if I get a free compass and a spear.
When is it due to hatch?
I DIED 😂
Digital products and services keep getting worse. In the new report Breaking Free: Pathways to a fair technological future, the Norwegian Consumer Council has delved into enshittification and how to resist it.

Not really. Mostly because I switched to Proton mail with no intention of going back.

I've recently looked into how ANC devices work, because in theory it's a very simple idea. In practice, ANC systems try to _predict_ the signal and invert it so it cancels out. Due to processing speed limit this works well only for lower frequencies. A bit disappointing, ngl.
I switched to Linux. I use Obsidian for note taking. The notes are synced to my phone using end-to-end encryption. I periodically backup everything to external hard drive. I'm moving away from US based cloud services (Google, etc.) and towards EU based open-source platforms. It's a process, ngl.
Just clouds.
I'm not sure about scaling. They've already scraped everything there is to scrape off the internet and it's still not enough.
But I agree that using novel algorithms can help build more useful AI tools. Unfortunately that line of research slowed down a lot because all the investments dried up.
Naveed Azkhat, 32, became overwhelmed at the busy, brightly lit gallery and decided to rest on a chair in one of the exhibition rooms as his shutdown took hold. His hunched, rigid posture led visitors to mistake him for the famous sculpture, and he soon attracted a crowd.
Machine learning algorithms can (as you say) mimic intelligence. They are probabilistic by design, so they "feel" natural. Other algorithms are deterministic. Each is useful for specialized tasks, like pattern recognition, or item classification. Those were already powerful tools in use before LLMs.
I studied computer sciences, including machine learning, so I have some understanding of how LLMs and genAI work on base level. This is old tech from the 70s. No matter how much you scale it up or fine tune it, there is no path from there to singularity. Anyone who claims that is selling snake oil.
classic 'tism, SMHing my head
The things that are colloquially called AI today are neither artificial nor intelligent. The AI of sci-fi often assumes some form of AGI, which is still a pipe dream from our current position. Or pipe nightmare, if you will.
Wow. Calling me out like that. Rude. 😅
For what it's worth, I'm genuinely sorry that you're not feeling well (I assume that's the point of the drawing).
I still dislike equating autism to a personality disorder, to be clear.
Not at all. The purpose has been fulfilled.
