Thank you! I can't speak to your art as I haven't seen it, but being able to show 3D form even without shadow comes from thinking of the character in 3D and often sketching placement lines like so. Even very subtle perspective shifts make a difference!

That's the thing, getting into big shows is harder and harder these days, so they can't really be counted on as a steady income anyway. I think it makes more sense to build up an online shop with a decent following, and go to conventions when you are able/ want to

Fanart is definitely the way to get attention and fast sales, but I promise there is nothing too Niche for the internet. You might be having trouble finding your audience, I recommend thinking outside of the box to promote yourself. Make posts in niche subreddits.🤪
