Day 20: A Wrinkle in Time, by Madame L’Engel

Indeed.

…but I’ll have to do a full inventory later, and I probably should change all my passwords. What a weird and frustrating day.

So, right as I was in the middle of querying agents, my computer went nuts. It made beeping noises and flashed warnings. In the background, it looked the way a computer getting hacked in the movies does. I immediately shut it down, and it appears everything is ok after the restart (hours later)…

The bountiful cornucopia of a child’s imagination too often is left to rot. #vss365

Lethargy was no problem for the gifted writers of #vss365. The range of responses you give is most impressive. Therefore, I expect nothing but your usual brilliance with the March 5 #prompt #bountiful.

Digital drawing in white and gray against a black background of a black jaguar emerging from some fantastical-looking ferns and looking at the viewer face on with lowered head and piercing eyes. The animal's form is suggested by a scattering of dotted strokes of the pen like stars in the sky.

8/52 A sinister presence makes himself known to Wren: the largest cat she's ever seen! Birds and cats are natural enemies but will this jaguar be friend or foe?

Me: it’s getting kind of late in the day, and I haven’t done much writing. I need to get my ass of the couch and get something—anything—done.

Funny how
When you’re
Missing a piece
Of your heart

Its #empty hole
Weighs so heavy

Feeling it on every sigh

You don’t feel the rest of the heart
At all

Capturing the Moon The so-called wise men of Chelm, a group of fools in Eastern European Jewish folklore, once tried to capture the moon. Seeing the reflection of the moon in a barrel of water, they covered the barrel in an attempt to capture it in the barrel. Of course, the next day, when they opened the barrel, the moon was gone. They tried to go to the authorities, but since they lacked any proof that the moon ever belonged to them, the police dismissed their claims and the all cried out in despair, lamenting the lost moon.

None of you were timid with your splendor, as I knew would be the case. Enjoying your #vss365 posts is such a privilege. Now, to cloud things up a bit, I offer a #prompt with several meanings. Whether you choose to go liquid or visual, the word for March 3 is #cataract.

I'm a traditional comic artist so it feels fun to follow in the footsteps of the artists I've admired over the years and use my own models as references! This is Emma Peel's Lotus which I built over Christmas from a plastic kit and is now ready to be posed for any panels it appears in!

Lovely adaption! At times the wording felt so close to Poe's original that I saw the same remembered images in my mind's eye. A nod to the guy who read it as well, you both did a great job in keeping an old master alive!

Thank you. And yes, the narrator was great, as well as the whole production. I was very pleased with the way @pseudopod.org presented the whole thing.

Don’t let the splendor on the dragon distract you from the danger it poses, nor from its greed. #vss365
