Rather underwhelmed by the answers of Felix from the European Alliance for Regenerative Agriculture who only adressed his dislike for UPF's and Anke from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences who mostly laid the responsability for more plant-based diets with individual consumers.
Who killed the strategic dialogue? This is the question @mep Clergeau asked in the closing statement of this event. He is right to call for the revival of this consensus!

Imo, in these cases we are talking about factories and not about farms. Factories where billions of sentient animals are exploited to squeeze the biggest amount of profit out of them.

Generational renewal panel: Erika Olsen, swedish organic farmer, shared why so many young farmers go organic: they care for the future of the soil 🌱, love mixing tradition & innovation ⚖️, and are passionate about producing healthy, nature-friendly food 🌍

The second panel got kicked off by young regenerative farmer Anne Van Leeuwen.👩🌾
She made great points on the need for long-term capital & healthy interest rates that don't push farmers into overly extractive models. 💶
She also called for the closing of the gap between producer & eater ✅️
Next up was a panel of all men from Council, EP, EESC, CoR and Copa (but no civil society at all 🤯)
They talked more about generational renewal, competitiveness & innov (a clear trend this day)
The audience rightly asked them about the lack of focus on food policy & the sectors climate impact
On the evolution and not revolution point: when farmers are quiting by the millions in the last decades, average farm income is bad, AW is too often neglected and the strain of EU AGRI on ENVI is destructive, we need more than small tweaks to the system.
