100% true. Steven's dad, and my dad, were both engineers at GE in Phoenix. Family came over for dinner and pre-teen Stevie played with my sisters and I in our backyard before dinner. I was too young to remember, however!

Steven Spielberg had dinner at my house.
Totally unrelated, but I get a kick out of the 'Interstates' overlay at SPC including many non-interstate highways, esp. near the Canadian/Mexican border. US Highway 93 north of Missoula, and US Highway 97 north of Wenatchee? OK. But state highways 85 and 86 southeast of Ajo Arizona? Seriously?
Somewhere, Mary Desjardin is smiling
Feels like, especially with highly skewed distributions, that reference to climo is crucial. Like "normally only a 1% of getting 23 inches, but in this storm there is a 10% chance".
Wait, so he trademarked airport names so he could possibly get licensing money if somewhere names an airport for him? That's pretty depraved. I'm beginning to think he might not have the public good in mind. Shocked Shocked, I say! www.wesh.com/article/hous...
And Mercury?!
This is awful. Not at all how humans should treat other humans. Americans MUST stop this, and we must prosecute those who have treated other humans this way. www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...
#nytspellingbee - if the day ends and everyone else was attacked by the mosquitoes, but you were not - doesn't that mean you were ... ?
Forgive us, Lord, for allowing so many, especially those in positions of great power, to associate your name with statements like this, which are the antithesis of your life and teachings. This is not the Christianity I know. Not even close. Forgive us.

Sigh. #NYTSpellingBee obviously doesn't subscribe to @chrisgeidner.bsky.social at lawdork.com (for a pangram no less!) But you should!

Dare I say IS, rather than just 'could be': "Congressβs failure not to impeach and remove Donald Trump from the presidency on January 7, 2021 could be one of the most significant failures in modern American history."
NEW: Five years later, as Trump's lies continue, the danger of the January 6 insurrection remains.
An offensive White House web site of lies is an apt anniversary marker β not just of where Trump is but of where the many institutional failures to stop him have led us.
Tonight, at Law Dork:

Good gosh, how silly are we gonna get? Next we change 'Thursday' to 'Trumpday'. How about change the color gold to be called Donald instead. The act of 'thinking' will be called 'Trumping' instead? Oh, no - it's the opposite of thinking... Sigh.
Vote them ALL out. Every. Single. One.

#NYTSpellingBee took ARROYO a few days ago, but now it doesn't take PLAYA? Make it make sense. Sorta foreign, but widely used in geomorphology or geography. Sigh
About 6" of good snowman snow in Champaign IL
And it seems likely to me that the mis-classifications are in the most critical areas. Sorta like weather where 97% accuracy is common, but meaningless - with accuracy in the IMPACTFUL situations much less. But it could be useful in classifying the 'easy' areas, freeing up humans for critical areas
That's Awesome!
Don't everyone move to Salmon, Idaho. Although, it really is a nice spot. Even in the winter.

Come on #NYTSpellingBee - Astronomical phenomena and geometric shapes ought to count.

#NYTSpellingBee - You've obviously not met my English in-laws.
Very worth your time to read this. We must do better.
Absolutely
And claiming they're "jokes" is no better. Disgusting jokes are uncalled for.

A bit bigger crowd at Boise NoKings than previous ones - but had to compete with a home Boise State Football game nearby, so that might have cut down on attendance. Still a great showing in a deep red state. And some great signs

I'm actually happy that #NYTSpellingBee didn't rewind to 2009 and accept this word.
