Following the latest government Spending Review, I’m delighted @TfL is ordering a £50 million new fleet of trams for its south London network running through Croydon.
This new fleet will come with a range of upgrades, improving travel for residents throughout the borough.
Labour's Industry Strategy will support 1.1 million new, well-paid jobs over the next decade.

2/ Crisis Skylight Croydon is a charity doing amazing work supporting people who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness.
1/ Such a beautiful event at @crisis_uk Skylight Croydon this evening - lovely to meet with members who were presenting artwork they’ve made during classes at the centre. Music from the @mozartplayers was also a real highlight.
2/ Staff and volunteers do an incredible job helping refugees to navigate UK systems, access support and services, and build strong relationships.
1/ This World Refugee Week, I wanted to pay tribute to some of the amazing organisations in my constituency, including the Croydon Refugee Day Centre and Young Roots.
2/ Delivering energy security and putting money back in people’s pockets.
1/ 🚨 570,000 more families in London will receive £150 off their energy bills next winter, including in Croydon West.
Labour is today extending the Warm Home Discount to protect more low-income households and pensioners across the country.
This winter over 75% of pensioners in England and Wales – around 9 million – will receive Winter Fuel Payments to help with energy costs.

1/ 🗞️ I’ve penned a piece for The Mirror on the launch of a new government trial for over 600 pubs, hotels, restaurants and cafes. They’ll receive free advice on how they can become more efficient and cut their energy bills, as part of the government’s Plan for Change.

2/ The school is trying to raise £60,000 for repairs between now and March 2026, with the goal of completing the restoration by 9th August 2026 — marking 65 years since the disaster. Completing the work by this date would make the tribute especially meaningful.
1/ *Restoring the Lanfranc Memorial Garden*
On 9th August 1961, a tragic air crash claimed the lives of 34 pupils and two teachers from Archbishop Lanfranc Academy. A Memorial Garden was created in their honour at Croydon Cemetery - but it now urgently needs restoration.
