I managed some quite clear shots of mama in the nest!
And for reasons known only to it, a Stellar’s Jay (BC’s official bird!) stopped by to screech at her for a bit. πŸ¦‰πŸͺΆ #yyj

Wait, what year is this again?

Announcement: starting November 1st, we will remain permanently on Delayed Sailing Time (DST).

It is. Plus, I don’t go out as often living here, as I did living in Ontario. I only fill up about every two weeks or so.

Oh so true! I had a glaze firing a few years ago that overfired to cone 8, I estimate. I was ill, and ended up taking a year off afterwards, but I can still remember cracking the kiln open…humbling indeed.

These pieces look gorgeous!

Alas…it’s the cost of living in the Gulf Islands…aka my idea of paradise!

Gas may be $1.75 per litre, but we’ve only had 5cm of snow this year (gone the same day) and the coldest it’s been this year was around -2C.

I can live with itβ€¦πŸ˜

Huge bargain! I’m at $6.62 per gallon where I live.

Hey, that’s a great price.

Haven’t priced out Tofino for awhile, but I know it’s pricey during the high season. Ucluelet might be an option?

08.02.2026 20:12 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Ooh…both are great options. Haida Gwaii is on my list!

A kilo is 1000 grams. 😎

Seriously, a kilogram is about 2.2 lbs. Or, 1 lb is 454 grams.

So if you threw a bag, then it was about 22lbs or so.

I’m glad I misread it. Market day today, so a little punchy. πŸ€ͺ

Yup. Very frustrating to be fed into the machine. Happens here too, on a smaller scale.

Wow. Reading this up here in Canada, and it’s a real eye-opener. I live remotely, so I can understand a shortage of something, but nothing?
I’ve started buying my sandpaper from a marine supply store. Just thought I’d mention it, if you haven’t already checked that avenue out.
