Oh so true! I had a glaze firing a few years ago that overfired to cone 8, I estimate. I was ill, and ended up taking a year off afterwards, but I can still remember cracking the kiln open…humbling indeed.

Gas may be $1.75 per litre, but we’ve only had 5cm of snow this year (gone the same day) and the coldest it’s been this year was around -2C.

Wow. Reading this up here in Canada, and it’s a real eye-opener. I live remotely, so I can understand a shortage of something, but nothing?
I’ve started buying my sandpaper from a marine supply store. Just thought I’d mention it, if you haven’t already checked that avenue out.
