Oh yeah!!
Thank you for this week's song list! I followed you on X (since deleted my account), but was wondering if your X followers (if you're still there) vs your BlueSky followers have different musical tastes? X vs Bsky likes numbers?
Eagles - "Best of My Love" is #7. #AT40

I've heard from women that this song is misogynistic π€¦ββοΈ But in reality it is one of the early songs that elevate "women's work" to the same level as men's work. I doubt there are many men who could do traditional women's chores as well. Hard work deserves praise and this is one song that does it.

I'm not enamored with the state I live in (IN), but I can say that I'm glad I don't live in FL (esp around the Palm Beach area) right now. I don't wish for it to happen, but retaliation for Khamenei's reported death is a possibility.
Thanks Jezza for giving us a diversion from the nasty news. Even if it's just for a while. π We appreciate it!
Some styles I'm glad come back. The "bouffant" hairdo... god forbid it ever rears its ugly head again π

From my understanding, the 6 month moratorium is to block approving any new "suppliers" of DME. The current suppliers/providers of your device should not be affected. Hope this eases your fears. π«
(But I still despise Oz/Trump/Vance for a host of other reasons)
He's out of his pain and I hope that soon you will be rid of the pain of missing him. It's so hard. Sending hugs.π«
It's a good show!
Couldn't they have just had some fun? Toss a few snowballs back? Damn, does everything have to be so serious?
The "BBB" increased the max child tax credit by $200/year. That extra $3.85 per week will buy about a 1/2 pound of hamburger. The kids should be so thankful π
Totally agree. I should not know who this insignificant loser is or anything about him. He should drown in anonymity. Looksmaxing is NOT something any normal person should be forced to know about.
Every 13 yr old white girl I knew had the hots for this guy π
Memories of freshman Home Economics class... radio playing... making meatloaf & learning how to sew an apron. Silly & easy times.
"Goods like cotton, spices, and cocoa were stored in special warehouses, but also in the attics of merchantsβ canal houses in Amsterdam. One could hoist these up from the street using the hook on the beam sticking out on the top floor." www.expatica.com/nl/moving/so...
I've had luck with Flaky Pastry I & II. Just remember to NOT over mix the shortening (leave some small chunks, should NOT look like sand). And you can substitute about 1/2 the water with vodka to make it more flaky & less gluten/doughy tough. Let me know if you make one & how it turns out π
Favorite actual pie, not pie crust recipe? I'd have to say French Coconut, then cooked Chocolate (using cocoa powder, not cold choc pudding ones), then Dutch Apple.
"press" butter - cut into small chunks, chill, slightly press into dry ingredients. Don' over mix. Add milk. Not sure if this is something you're interested in, but here it is. And if you want an easy pie crust recipe I can get that for you. Secret is to swap out some of the water with vodka π
My older white fam boiled chicken bef tossing on the BBQ & slathering with vinegar/cayenne/butter sauce & crisping up the skin. The younger fam just have the BBQ low/slow & skip the boiling. The only other reason to boil chicken would be making stock/stew/soup. Do people boil for any other reason?π
I do. Here's my 1955 version. I've had it for over 40 years & couldn't do without it. It's helped me through lean times w/recipes using leftovers. IMO all high school kids should have to take HomeEc and be given this cookbook (or some equal to it). The money saved from cooking vs delivery is a lot.
My "white culture" is spicy w/over 30 spices in the cupboard I use liberally. That's the trouble with "skin color" culture. It's meaningless. Even the "country of my ancestors" culture is extremely varied. As others have pointed out, it's more about "I get upset if I see things that I'm not used to".

I mean, I know what an unmanned rocket is, just wondering it's relevance (if any) to the NOTAM for El Paso.
