The public has until the end of the day on Monday to weigh in on how much pollution a Metro East coal plant should be allowed to put into the air.
The Prairie State coal plant, located near Marissa in St. Claire County, emits pollutants such as the cancer-causing chemicals chromium and vanadium.
I have a dark sense of humor, but I have been crying a lot more than I have been laughing about the fascists.
A Pastoral BY AGHA SHAHID ALI on the wall the dense ivy of executions βZBIGNIEW HERBERT We shall meet again, in Srinagar, by the gates of the Villa of Peace, our hands blossoming into fists till the soldiers return the keys and disappear. Again weβll enter our last world, the first that vanished in our absence from the broken city. Weβll tear our shirts for tourniquets and bind the open thorns, warm the ivy into roses. Quick, by the pomegranateβ the bird will sayβHumankind can bear everything. No need to stop the ear
@sarairlbeck.bsky.social When will the next singing protest in StL happen? I want to be there!
Time itself now held long breaths with keen suspense.

The video of a United States Senator joining the violent removal of U.S. marine from a hearing and hideously breaking his arm in a door is an example of what has been unleashed in this country. Theyβre tapping in to get in on the violence.
And then he bragged about it on X later.
That's a good poem, I especially like the sun's arm.
I was looking for a poem about smoking cigarettes but this will do.
A Boat O beautiful was the werewolf in his evil forest. We took him to the carnival and he started crying when he saw the Ferris wheel. Electric green and red tears flowed down his furry cheeks. He looked like a boat out on the dark water. β Richard Brautigan

City of Light
Sounds pretty great
Wish I were close enough to attend!
As it is with our clothing, so it is with our names. We can have trans rights, bodily autonomy, gender nonconformity, and freedom of expression, or we can have none of these things.
Thereβs no third option.

What's the blueprint for the future we want?
He is arguably the most human character, like Bender in Futurama.
Woe Are You? BY DON MEE CHOI It was hardly war, the hardliest of wars. Hardly, hardly. It occurred to me that this particular war was hardly war because of kids, more kids, those poor kids. The kids were hungry until we GIs fed them. We dusted them with DDT. Hardly done. Reha- bilitation of Korea, that is. It needs chemical fertilizer from the States, power to build things like a country. In the end it was the hardliest of wars made up of bubble gum, which GIs had to show those kids how to chew. In no circumstance whatever can man be comfortable without art. They donβt want everlasting charity, and we are not giving it to them. We are just lending them a hand until they can stand on their own
RAJU: You'll concede this is war?
MARKWAYNE MULLIN: We haven't declared war. They declared war on us
RAJU: The president called it war and Secretary Hegseth called it war
REPORTER: When you walked up just now, you called it war
MULLIN: Okay. That was a misspoke.
Countries in Africa which have agreed to new health aid packages contingent on greater access to minerals and sharing the sensitive health information of Africans.
The new controversial health funding aid packages which are replacing USAID to align with America first agenda of the current administration are reportedly linked to granting US greater access to mineral resources and harvesting sensitive health data of Africans w little reciprocity or protections
If they want me back they have to go fully Woke 2, sorry. Whole hog. I gotta be able to get an abortion there
In the Nazi color scheme no less!
I think it is absolutely scandalous that in just one year of an HHS under the leadership RFK.Jr the US has lost its Measles elimination status and is now on track to do same for perinatally acquired Hepatitis B. These are huge public health wins that took years to accomplish.
