If it was really woke it wouldn’t be so human-centric.
It targeted the core democratic mechanism itself. Interfering with the peaceful transfer of power isn’t just another scandal. It’s categorically different, because that process is what makes every other disagreement possible. That’s not a matter of degree. It’s a difference in kind.
January 6 seems like a pretty reasonable line.
You may be sneaking in the continuum fallacy there. If the absence of a precise line erased real differences, beards and heaps would be myths.
Protest voting is a luxury of normal times. Authoritarian moments remove that luxury.
If your ideology can’t handle choosing between bad and catastrophic, it’s not principled. It’s unserious.
And now we have masked federal agents grabbing people in the streets. Children tear-gassed. Political violence excused. Tariffs used as weapons against allies. Courts ignored. Laws enforced only against enemies. This is what was enabled. This is what “protest voting” bought.
If they backed a Libertarian in 2024 while Trump was openly threatening democracy itself, then yes, they should regret it. Pretending otherwise is just refusing responsibility for what they helped enable.

Many weren’t right. Too many Libertarians were collaborators who equivocated during both elections.
