For a long time at mic Mac there were resident security people who seemed to be permanent fixtures and watching them chase people was pretty Paul blart style comical (I used to walk in there all winter and spring 12+ years ago lol)

To be fair, security can’t do shit (by the law) so police get called when anything happens. There’s a lot of people in desperate times so there ends up being a lot of calls to the malls for disturbances and in-progress theft.

I had the most glorious Mediterranean salad last night for supper.
Today, I had a container of the toppings from that salad: bulgur with ground beef, tomatoes, onions, cucumber and a lemon garlic vinaigrette and I think that maybe the lettuce part of that salad was unnecessary 🤣

I’m thinking I might move to a compressed work week and take every other Monday off after Xmas. I need my time not at work 😅

I have more meaningful connections with total strangers than I do with people close to me. Is that sad? I don’t know. Sometimes I feel really lucky that strangers feel comfortable talking to me. It happens a lot. Boyfriends have always quipped that it’s strange how often I find myself chatting

I actively avoid interaction with people usually. I can be very social, but I don’t seek it out. But I love the ones who seek ME out.
This fellow today was honestly happy to just chat. He was looking for nothing but a bit of companionship for a moment, and actively participated in conversation.

We stood there chatting for about 5 minutes, and he asked if I had to be somewhere. I said I was in no rush to get back to work and he asked if I minded if he walked with me for a bit - I said of course not.
He walked along with me, chatting away about the time he was in Stephenville in the 70’s.

He’s homeless, though he doesn’t say it outright, and says he’ll probably go to the record store to look around and warm up a bit. I asked if he wanted a coffee but he declined. Instead, he asked me where I was from, and he was flabbergasted (honestly) at my lack of Newfoundland accent.

Walked down Portland st today on my lunch break after picking up some gaming accessories for my step kids from the lost world game store.
An older gent asked me if I knew where the TD went. It’s been gone for a while, but we talked about it, and the changes in dartmouth the last few years.

New hyperfixation is bulgur in my vinaigrette salads.
I have eaten five salads with bulgur this week and will continue to do so next week until i dont want to see it for a while but my god i am obsessed at the moment.

In Labrador the last few days for work and man i love the barren lands. I could easily live up here. Isolated.

Internal temperature of 160, smoked it for four hours at 230

Buddy. 160 degrees was perfection for this. 😍

I have a moose roast in the smoker and I am so excited.
