As long as experiences like this instill a healthy distrust in automated language translation, that's probably the best I can hope for.

I had similar problems a few years ago when I was testing DeepL's capabilities and found it would randomly swap between tu/vous with no option to fine-tune the results for, say, business register. (Luckily I'd already had French lessons so I saw the problem immediately.)

There's a broken cuneiform tablet from the Old Babylonian period, nearly 4,000 years ago, which preserves a tiny portion of a dialogue between two friends.

It feels a bit like the conversations I've been having for the past week, so I wanted to share it.
