As someone who uses em dashes semi-regularly, it really annoys me that AI uses it so much to the point that people see em dashes and immediately assume it's AI. I use them because they're somewhere between a paranthetical and a comma, we are not the same!!

Despite growing up atheist, my family would always go to this Easter buffet when I lived in the US. It was always something I looked forward to. Now that I live in NZ with found family, I try to do things with them that carry that tradition on. So I got us this big glorious strawberry cake π

My first attempt at a lidless reusable takeaway coffee cup. Too wide! Doesn't fit in my car cup holders, feels awkward to hold. Mouth opening is fine for drinking though so there's that!
Do love the way the tenmoku breaks and changes over the clay body too

Sorry I've been so quiet here bsky friends π I got the Amaco ceramic printing Inks in blue, red and yellow and mixed them and did these little testers. They've just come out of the bisc and then I'm going to clear glaze half of each tile and fire to cone 6.

Ugh yes. We see this with the early year art students and we try to encourage them out of that. Asking them "What is the end goal?" and getting them to think about the idea extrapolated to its utmost point usually gets them to figure out why it's problematic... but not all of them π«

This is a really interesting bit of new science, especially coming from a #ceramicglaze perspective. Maybe this is why historically we could 'get away with' using lead-glazed ware? www.sciencedaily.com/releases/202...
I also knew that I wanted to use it primarily in Cone 6, so knew that I would have to use a decent amount of frit, too, so there's that. Also, the glaze by itself is really gross! It's very very matte and is horrendous to the touch. But over top of others its gorgeous and shiny and lovely haha
This is the first time I've ever made one, so it was a bit of a gamble! But basically, I know that most overglaze-type glazes ("The Juice", "Jen's Juicy Fruit" etc) are mostly fluxes with some Titanium Dioxide to make things crystal-y and interesting. So I made a recipe that went hard on fluxes!
