I had a great time talking with members of the Student Government Association at Dumbarton Middle School today.
We covered some of the big issues of this year’s legislative session, and I also spoke to them about the importance of public service and being active in your community.
Honored to attend Governor Moore’s bill signing ceremony yesterday. Three of my bills were signed into law — two that help children owed child support and one to help strengthen and build our cybersecurity workforce.
Seven more of my bills will also become law this year!

Their visit was part of Tiger Pride Day, and they have a lot to be proud of — including their designation by the Wall Street Journal as the state’s No. 1 public university.

It was great to meet with the Baltimore County Student Council’s Executive Board.
Each student chose a different piece of legislation we’re considering this year, and advocated for it.
These impressive students hailed from Towson, Perry Hall and Hereford high schools, and Eastern Technical High.
The crowd wasn’t just cheering the Towson Tigers men’s basketball victory tonight.
Students from Dumbarton Middle School filled the stands and erupted into applause for the school’s 2025 Teacher of the Year, Kourtney Lewis-Orr!
Glad to see her celebrated on center court.

My first bill of 2025 just passed the House with unanimous, bipartisan support!
HB 323 ensures domestic partnerships are properly recorded with the register of wills. This will help them recover missing child support, and protect against the loss of federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.

LPP is a gem of a program that draws students -- and future leaders -- from around Baltimore County. Today, they got a glimpse of what that future could be.

What a thrill to meet D. Watkins, the celebrated Baltimore author, on the House floor yesterday. We honored him for winning a 2024 James Beard Media award, for an article he wrote on sobriety and Baltimore's restaurant scene.

On this first day of Black History Month, I was proud to join some 200 elected officials and community members at Emmarts United Methodist Church in Windsor Mill.
This historic church was a stop on the Underground Railroad — where enslaved people found food and shelter on their journey to freedom.
I always look forward to visits from Moms Demand Action. Their advocacy for common sense gun legislation is so important.
And their babies are so cute!
This mom joins these moms in urging passage of three important gun safety bills before us this year.

Today I presented HB 326, a bill to promote financial literacy in our schools, before the House Ways and Means Committee.
Teaching students how to plan a budget, the impact of finance charges and interest rates, and the basics of saving and investing, is a benefit to both the student and society.
