Peters organized the breach of the election equipment, broke the public trust and attacked the very foundations of our democratic process. Her actions are still being used to try to undermine the 2026 election.
Tina Peters was found guilty of three counts of attempting to influence a public servant along with four additional felony and misdemeanor counts. Beyond one count in common, it is not accurate to suggest that Peters’ and Sonya Jaquez Lewis’ actions or impacts are the same.
Jena Griswold is running for Attorney General of the State of Colorado and one of her Democratic primary opponents is running television attack ads saying that she was somehow being dishonest when she said that she “argued” the seminal 14th Amendment disqualification case before the Supreme Court.
The DOJ has now sued nearly 30 states for sensitive voter records that they don’t have a right to. When they asked Colorado for our data, I told them to take a hike. We will not help Donald Trump undermine our elections and hurt the American people.
Trump has made our elections less safe since retaking office. He has disbanded much of the federal government's work on securing elections and combatting foreign interference, and appointed election deniers to key positions. He is trying to silence the American people, but it will not work.
We are a little over a year into this presidency, and have seen repeated attacks on our constitution and democracy. But the American people's eyes are open, and they will be able to make their voices heard whether or not Trump wants to hear what they have to say.
