Does a horizontal scrolling list of programs get more interaction than carousels? π€ Horizontal scrolling feels like a no-no, but with touchscreens and trackpads everywhere, maybe Iβm just showing my age. That said, I do love being able to filter programs right from the homepage. www.oberlin.edu

There's a growing trend in higher-ed of hiding menus on desktop sites under either a menu/hamburger button or icon. My instincts says this is a negative for user experience. NN Group researched this in 2016 and found as much. Anyone (maybe site owners on this path) done any recent UX research?

UVM Brand Guide | The University of Vermont
Nice work UVermont. Their brand site includes standards, tools and templates to work with the brand as well as background on the 2024 Brand Project. Protected assets are behind a login. uvm.edu/stratcomm/br...

And, for the record. I love Canada and my Canadian identity and have no desire to become part of whatever is going on south of the 49th. Best of luck America, please leave Canada out of it.

What confuses me most, is that adding Canada as a state is coming from Republicans. We are a country which perpetually votes 60-70% left-of-center. Give us a few seats, Senators and some electoral votes and the Democrats would own the house, senate and presidency forever.

He spent the rest of the first half trying out defence. They put him in goal for the second half, which is new for him, to let his goalie get a chance to run the field. I'm proud of this kid and his effort to work and improve.

He does play indoor in the neighbouring city and has games 1-2 times a week. On his off days, he is on his local outdoor field putting in the work. He played the last indoor game of 2024 last night and had 3 goals in the first half. 3 is max/player/game allowed in his league.

This is how a kid from small town Alberta, Canada works on his soccer game in the winter. 30 minutes of shovelling to practice his shots. (pardon my thumb in the shot)
